Entertainment Movies Category Submission Guideline

This is a competition which looks for works in the Feature Film and Non-Genre Sections (period dramas,animation, music videos, and so on regardless of genre), and selecting the “Creators Factory Outstanding Performance Award” winners. At the Kyoto International Film Festival, just like the Okinawa International Movie Festival, the hope is that we will discover new talented creators for the next generation of the movie industry. From films gathered from competition entrants, awards candidates are selected in advance to be screened during the festival. The winner of the “Creators Factory Grand Award” is presented with 1 million yen in prize money, and the production of the next film supported by KIFF.

Requirements
Individuals or groups that produce audio-visual works all over the world. All entries must be completed and submitted on DVD format.
Prize

Grand Award1 million yen in prize money, and the production of the next film supported by Kyoto International Film Festival.

Format
  1. Only DVD(cannot be accepted HD-CAM,Blu-Ray).The only selected applicants will be notified. Upon receiving the notification, the applicants are responsible to send the exhibition master (BD, DVD) to the address instructed by the festival office.
How to Submit
  1. Please mail DVD of your works. The submitted disc will not be returned. Please fill out the application form and mail the DVD to the following address.

  2. The festival is not to be held responsible for any lost or damaged submissions before they reach the festival office.
  3. The festival is granted a right to screen, publicize, and promote the submitted works in all media including internet upon the agreement by the submitter.
  4. The festival does not accept any entries that pertain to any political, religious, commercial activities, or contains anything that is offensive to public order and morals.

Results
The only selected applicants will be notified. Upon receiving the notification, the applicants are responsible to send the exhibition master (BD, DVD) to the address instructed by the festival office. The applicants are responsible for the cost of sending the exhibition masters as well as insurance. Please be aware that the organizers may screen the submitted works with English subtitles.

Rules
  1. The rules as written in Japanese take precedence over any other versions translated in other languages.
  2. Any legal matters pertaining to the submitted works will be governed by and construed under the Japanese law. Any claims or disputes must be filed to the municipal court of Tokyo.
  3. Participants and submitters are deemed to have fully understood and accepted all the regulations of the festival.
  4. The submitters cannot withdraw their entries after they received a notification of the result.
  5. In the event that the third party may want to screen or exhibit the submitted works, the third party shall has no legal right to dispute the rules and regulations confirmed by the film festival.

Art Category / Kids Category Submission Guideline

Entrants to the“ Art Category” can be in art genres such as painting, craft, photography and sculptures,and there is also a “Children’s Section” which will exhibit paintings by children. There will be a preliminary screening of entries, and those works which pass this screening will be exhibited at “Former Rissei Elementary School”. From amongst the exhibited artists, a Jury will select the “Creators Factory Outstanding Performance Award” winner, with the winning artist in the “Art Section” awarded 500,000 yen in prize money and a trophy, and the“ Children’s Section” winner will be awarded a trophy and gift. We hope you will enjoy works created by children challenging themselves, and artists who will move on to become future leaders of the Japanese art scene.

Requirements
  1. Art Category
    Individuals or groups that produce art works all over the world.
  2. Children Category
    Individuals or groups under 15 who produce creative activities.
Format
  1. One Individual and One group one time applicants.
  2. Paintings, crafts, photography, 3D Modeling / 2D works must not be larger than 120cm X 120 cm / 3D works must not be larger than d100cm X w100cm X h120cm
    ※Childern Category needs paintings, etc. that any children under 15 draw.
How to Submit
  1. Please mail a photograph of your work. Please fill out the application form and mail the photograph to the following address.Please do not submit the original art-work.

1.Privacy Policy
