The third annual Kyoto International Film and Art Festival 2016 will kick off in spectacular fashion at Nijo Castle, a national treasure and world heritage site.
Following on from last year, this year we will again announce a winner for the “Shozo Makino Award”, to recognize the contributions of a filmmaker to the development of the Japanese film industry.

On October 16, the final day of the Kyoto International Film Festival, a Closing Ceremony will be held at the Kyoto Hotel Okura, where the winner of the “Toshiro Mifune Award” will also be announced.Screening footage of the 4-day festival,participating guests and festival staff will gather to look back on the events,enjoying a Grand Finale together.
