The men who loved Japan.
This is a documentary of AmericanLangdon Warner who made a list of about 150 Japanese cultural assets in order to save them during World War II, and Russian Sergei Yeliseyev, who is said to have saved the “BookTown” of Kanda Jimbocho. Shot in various parts of Japan, the USA and France. With interviews with more than 30 cultural figures, the story culminates with a personal letter from the American President to the Emperor of Japan, which was hidden as war broke out between the US and Japan.
